Despite being frequently misrepresented in the media, Rottweilers are good natured, loyal dogs and problems only arise when they are mismanaged. Rottweilers are often more affectionately named “Rotties”. They are very intelligent and have a longstanding history as working dogs, particularly in herding and guarding. This is a pedigree breed of dog that needs very careful training and management and is not recommended for first time dog owners.
